|"FOLLOW THE MONEY: New Funding for K-12 Public Schools".
A panel of superintendents and administrators from local school districts will explain the new school funding process and what it means to the children and families in our communities.
For the first time in 40 years, California is changing its funding formula for K-12 public schools. The Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) becomes effective on July 1, 2014. Under the LCFF, each school district must work with parents and other community stakeholders to develop a Local Control Accountability Plan to outline intended outcomes and guide each District on the expenditure of the new monies available to them.
This event is free and open to the public. Co-sponsored by the LWV of the Beach Cities. Come and learn about this crucial change and how it affects our children, our schools, and our communities.
