In previous meetings, we've learned about the LWVC's positions on Natural Resources and the LWVUS position on climate change. At this meeting, we'll learn about steps that several of our Beach Cities are taking to reduce rates of obesity and hypertension, not only improving health but lowering our carbon footprint as well. For example, some neighborhoods have formed `walking school buses.' Other neighborhoods are forming walking groups, such as the Walking Moai, where participants get together regularly and motivate each other to walk. And a new South Bay Bicycle Master Plan has been approved by four of our beach cities.
